Hi. I am an aerospace engineer whose graduate and post-graduate research work was on pulsed detonation engines (PDE). My last engine (ground demonstrator) was designed to run on liquid kerosene and featured a single detonation chamber with dual rotary valve systems.
The picture bar on top shows a 4 in i.d. propane/air+oxygen powered PDE ground demonstrator. Here is a link to the video page of the Aerodynamics Research Center at UT Arlington where one can find video clips of some of the PDE work that my fellow PDE researchers and I were involved in. Here is a link to the Youtube channel of an ex-colleague of mine from UT Arlington where more PDE video clips are available. (The rotating DWE/CDE and supersonic wind tunnel videos are from other ex-lab mates.)
Propulsion is one of my main research interests. In thrust we trust. This blog is a collection of articles on new and cutting edge technologies related to energy and propulsion.
Leave me a note if you find something interesting or contact me if you have questions, comments or something of interest related to energy and propulsion. Thanks for reading. Best wishes.
